Welcome to The Reef Channel! The Reef Channel is an Australian initiative that provides visual materials about the world of coral reefs for educational purposes.

In a few months time we will be launching The Reef Channel’s Video Encyclopaedia, a collection of more than 500 video clips about tropical marine ecosystems. Click here to find out more…..

The Reef Channel is based at Digital Dimensions, a high definition multimedia production unit located in Townsville on the Great Barrier Reef. Digital Dimensions has been making marine documentaries for international audiences for over ten years and has an extensive library of underwater video footage collected from across the Indo Pacific.

Most of the video footage from The Reef Channel is filmed by international award winning underwater cameraman and Digital Dimensions partner Richard Fitzpatrick.

Richard is one of Australia's leading underwater cinematographers specialising in high definition video systems as well as being a qualified marine biologist. He has shot more than 50 films for clients such as the BBC, National Geographic and Discovery Channels and is renowned for filming complex behavioural sequences - many never seen before.
